Biography

Ankie Mofers is a Dutch professional pianist and saxophonist. She studied at the conservatory in Maastricht. As a freelance pianist and saxophonist, Ankie is frequently asked by many different orchestras, as a soloist and for musical accompaniment of wedding ceremonies and funerals.

As an alto and soprano saxophonist, Ankie has been a member of the Royal Harmony of Thorn for more than twenty-five years. As a soprano saxophonist she has also been associated for 15 years with Euregion, Brass, Wind & Percussion (also board member) and the Limburg Fanfare Orchestra.

On piano, Ankie has performed with many soloists and choirs during all kinds of occasions such as concerts, music competitions, auditions, orchestral tests and entrance and final exams at the conservatory. Also as a saxophone soloist she has often performed in the Netherlands but also in Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany and during four tours through China (2008, 2009, 2014 and 2018).

Ankie considers it an honour that some works have been arranged and/or dedicated especially for her, such as the Concertino by Paul Harvey by Jan Cober, Crétan Concertino by Mikis Theodorakis and Mr. Knoll by Manos Hadjidakis by Guido Swelsen, On Hungerfordbridge by Christopher Gunnings by Jean Cosemans and Mishaela van Noa by Theo Collaert.
